    For WWW8, certificates were awarded for Best Paper, Best Presentation and Best Poster. The Program Committee wishes to thank IBM, Addison-Wesley and Foretec Seminars for the prizes they generously supplied to supplement the award certificates.

    Best Paper

    The Program Committee used votes by the paper reviewers to select the Best Paper. The award was presented to:
    "Focussed Crawling: A New Approach for Topic-Specific Resource Discovery"

    Best Presentation

    The Best Presentation award was decided by a ballot of the delegates. The winner was:

    Best Poster

    The Best Poster award was decided by a ballot of the delegates. There were three posters which were clearly preferred by the delegates so three certificates were awarded:

    At the closing plenary session, ballot papers from the Best Presentation and Best Poster ballots were drawn by the Awards Chair, Simon Phipps, and the winners given Canadian memorabilia.
